An exceptional brew that appeals to consumers who don’t want to sacrifice character for a low-calorie, low-carb light beer. Masterfully developed to maintain the full flavor profile akin to our flagship Lager brand, but has only 99 calories and 3.2g carbs per 12oz serving. Skillfully pairing a caramel malt flavor and mild hop character creates a beautifully rich-colored beer with deep amber highlights that finishes smooth and clean.

Cans consumed on the bus. A smooth watery brew with little in the nose and even less in terms of flavor. Smooth biscuit and very light watery floral hops, but clean and pretty refreshing.

On tap at the cold spot. Pours a clear light amber color with very small off-white head and a little lacing. Taste is very light malt and really watery. Just get the regular yuengling lager.

From tap (free sample, yay) after the (free, yay) brewery tour of the Tampa brewery site, on Feb 1, 2011Clear yellow color, white head. Sweet, mineral, a bit fruity taste. Moussy mouthfeel, fairly low bitterness. Cream, malty, sweet scent.Of the US light beers I’ve had, thismust be the best one so far. Didn’t mind it at all, can see myself buying it, well, if it was available that fresh, and in Sweden... Can’t say how it is from bottle or can though, but draught at the brewery was nice!

Friend’s party: Yesterday was my disappointing beer night. I won’t really comment on this beer’s taste because there really isn’t very much. It is as if you would have poured water into a normal Yuengling and that is pretty much it. I bet the Yuengling family brews this with a certain disgust because of their general integrity and conservatism. Not enough alcohol to even justify a single bottle.

Bland corn taste with not much flavor going for it. Not offensive but not pleasant either.

Bottle. Golden with a slight amber, a dusting of a head. Corny aroma, smells cheap. Flavor is light and watery, but really not bad for a light beer... much more flavorful than Bud or Miller Lite.

Overall Impression: Decent for a light beer, but still tastes like a light beer

A lighter body than the regular Lager. It still has some good flavors going on but I wouldn’t waste my time with this when the regular is just as widely available and much better.

So I found myself a sixer of Yuengling Light for $2.50 at a grocery store in Washington DC. One of the better investment decisions I’ve made recently (damned markets). It was a scorching hot day, the beer was cold, and I was refreshed. Think rooftop scene in Shawshank Redemption. As far as color goes, its basically clear. Very little aroma or head. Flavor is pleasant enough; very weak but enjoyable. If I ever find another $2.50 six-pack of these boys I’ll buy it for sure.
