Aroma of malt, sweet dried fruits, caramel toffee, molasses, liquorice, date, mild spices. Flavour is big malty and caramel, dried fruits, quite sweet. Overall a bit too sweet for my taste, but the delicious aroma more than makes up for it. A true ’dessert beer’.
Okay beer. It’s simply not that cleanly brewed. A bit acrid. Arendsnest ams

(Draught at In De Wildeman, Amsterdam, 29 Aug 2019) Dark brown colour with foamy, beige head. Malty nose with caramel, dark bread and prunes. Malty, slightly fruity taste with notes of caramel, roasted malt, crisp-bread, prunes, dark fruit and a balanced spicy bitterness. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. Well balanced and elegant. Nice one.

Bottle. Dark brown color. Firm roasty bittersweet flavor with licorice and plums. The aroma has licorice, but is still a bit in the bud. Medium to full bodied. Prickly mouthfeel. Satisfying beer.

Clear dark brown beer, small creamy irregular beige to brown head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: banana, pretty roasted, chocolate, dried fruits, prunes. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: lots and lots of chocolate, ripe banana, sweet, caramel, dried fruits. Aftertaste: banana, caramel, malty, soft bitterness, chocolate, soft roast, some liquorish and banana peel. Very well balanced and still complex beer, well done!

Deep brown colour with long lasting head. Aroma and flavour both capture the sweet, dried fruits present in many dark Trappist beers. Also a touch of banana, date and wood. Rich, smooth.
