Deep dark brown coloured body with a nice, pretty small light brown head, only a centimetre tall above the 90 per cent opaque body (due to the darkness). Aroma of very roasted malts, vanilla, earth, nuts, rustic grains, chocolate and a good deal of alcohol here, too. Medium-bodied; Super bitter and roasty notes show at first along with some pungent oats and roasted coffee coupled with chocolate and some strong sugars, but even those don't seem to cover the strong bitterness and astringency that doesn't show any marshmallows, no graham crackers and only dark chocolate notes. Aftertaste is pungent, rich, bitter, very strong and showing the malts, bitter grain, strong chocolate and caramelised flavours, but the coffee and metallic astringency is still somehow strongest. Overall, not such a great s'more (sweet) stout - this shows as a dry or especially Export/Foreign Stout and even then, it's too bitter and one-dimensional. Sad, as I was expecting more from this brewery, but hopefully I can get more soon! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle, purchased from Beer Baron in Livonia, Michigan on 23-October-2022 for US$3,39 sampled at my house here in Washington on 17-April-2023 a few hours before leaving back to Michigan, in the morning.

Sample at Daily Growler Powell during the Hoof Hearted Musk & Roller Blabe 3D Tapping + Kenny's Meat Wagon event on 09/06/2019. Black pour with some brown around the edges and a medium tan head that recedes steadily to a film. Small patches of lace. Smoked malt, chocolate and coffee in the nose. Light to medium body with flavors of charred malt, chocolate, graham cracker and marshmallow. The finish is sweet and smoky with a chocolatey aftertaste. Decent overall.

Pours nearly black. Roast malt and chocolate lead the aroma. The flavor is sweet with chocolate, marshmallows, and coffee. It’s a nice stout.

Wow, this bottle pours big and black, much like used 50W shovelhead oil. Very nice mild coffee and choco nose. First taste is stout, but its a little on the cloying side. Thicker mouth coating. Good thing its not more than 7% because it feels like it is. Not in an impy kindah way but still, it provides a kick. Yes, when I saw this label, I didn't expect much but maybe that's the problem, its too much. Overwhelming personality. Unduly sweet up front and difficult in the middle. Would better be styled as a sweet stout, no lie.

Bottle. Ash, alcohol, chocolate malt, graham cracker, and hay aroma. Oil black with large brown head. Moderately sweet marshmallow, graham cracker, chocolate malt, and moderately bitter ash and hay flavor. Good body.

Bottle: Pretty much black......with a short, dark tan head. Aroma of graham cracker and chocolate cake. Taste is sweet.....dark chocolate malt, graham/biscuit. A bit of marshmallow, but it's vague....more roast and smoke, really. Not accurate as a s'more......but a pretty nice little stout, overall.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 1/19/2017. Pours opaque dark brown/black color with a 1 finger dense khaki head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, graham cracker, toasted dark bread, and wood smoke; with light nuttiness, marshmallow cream, vanilla, charcoal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of roast/bready/smoked malt, graham cracker, marshmallow, and chocolate notes; with great strength. Taste of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, graham cracker, toasted dark bread, and wood smoke; with light nuttiness, marshmallow cream, vanilla, charcoal, and roast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate roast/char bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, graham cracker, toasted dark bread, wood smoke, light marshmallow/vanilla, and roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while, Great complexity, robustness, and balance of roast/bready/smoked malt, graham cracker, marshmallow, and chocolate flavors; with a great roasted bitter/sweet balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light dryness from roast bitterness, lightly increasing through the glass. Light-medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready, and lightly chalky/grainy balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol for 8%. Overall this is a great flavored smoked stout! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of roast/bready/smoked malt, graham cracker, marshmallow, and chocolate flavors; very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV. Not a whole lot of marshmallow presence; but the smoked malt, graham cracker, and milk chocolate are well represented. Great balance with the base stout, without being overwhelming on any flavors. A very enjoyable offering.

Bottle. Sour coffee/chocolate malt aroma, and a little charcoal. Black brown with a thin ring of tiny white scummy particles. Extremely sour/acidic charred dark malt flavor, not pleasant. Drain pour.

Cloudy dark brown beer, short lived tan head. Cracker crumbs rise to the surface! Tangy dark malt and chocolate nose. Light palate, a little crisp and dry. Tangy dark malt with a subtle biscuit tone. Not really getting much chocolate or marshmallow. Finishes dry. A decent Porter - never a Stout! Ha!
