Complex aromas of oak, honeyed malt sweetness, and piney citrus hops, leads to a full hoppy middle and a finish that’s crisp, oaky and pleasantly lingering. Why, oh why did we resist the subtle allure of IPA so long?

On tap at World of Beer Pensacola. Pours a cloudy orange with medium off white head that lasts. The aroma is floral hop and wood. Thin mouth, citrus, honey, crisp, light bitterness, very good.

Sampled on draft at Hou Thou this beer poured a dark amber color with a small foamy white head that faded and left no lacing. The aroma was a bit sweet and tangy with hints of pine and grape soda. The flavor was tangy with notes of fruity hops, pine, grape soda, a hint of bread and a touch of caramel. No oaky presence at all. Long sweet grape soda and fruity hop finish. Medium body. Odd and disappointing.

Bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a hazy dark orange with a half finger of white head. Aroma of dank earthy hops and grapefruit. Taste is light bitter. Earthy pine and grapefruit. Full bodied with a sticky texture. Lively carbonation and a long boozy finish. Not bad. Pretty good actually, but I’m thinking this may not be a fresh bottle.

Bottle @ Brad’s house Minneapolis. Pours a hazy orange appearance with an off white head. Nice piney, grapefruit, lemon citrusy, pineapple cake aroma. Tangy, grapefruity, somewhat bitter hoppy, lightly piney, a touch woody, somewhat thick malty flavor. A pretty good IPA.
