33 cl bottle from PRZH Winter Beer Fest. Had to wait with pouring halfway, because the glass was already totally filled with a huge beige head. Beer is dark brown, murky. Aroma’s: roasted malts, drop/licorice, a bit salty. Retronasal there’s sweetness, a touch of wood/vanilla, lots of roast and some soy sauce, and sweet fruit. Still foaming in the mouth. Flavor is moderately sweet, roasted, coffee-ish, with wood tones. Medium bodied. Finishes ashy and bitter.

Bottled. Pretty much gushing, probably because of the amount of yeast. Thank god, the yeast is flocculating quite well, so not much ends up in my glass. Dark brown color, huge brown head. Aroma of coffee and chocolat, dark fruit. Soft woody notes, slight herbal. Hint of lactose. Dry and bitter taste, soft milky note (maybe some lactose was used?), hint of sourness. Slight alcohol in the finish, with a soft metallic note as well. There are some minor flaws in the beer, but overall the recipe seems pretty solid.

33cl bottle @ home shared with Dutchdrebus. Pitch black color, medium sized brown head. Smell malts, roasty, coffee. Taste has malts, roastyness, coffee, a bit chocolate. Carbonation is a bit fizzy which takes away a bit of the taste. Pity because it’s a very nice beer. So a bit too carbonated but a solid body. Quite nice, too much carbonation imo.

Bottle, parting gift from 20th Winterbierfestival in Gouda. Very dark brown color, huge beige head. Aroma of chocolate fudge brownies. Taste is Italian chocolate soda, very rich and thick.
