Tap. Pours clear mahogany, tiny beige head, bit of lacing. Aroma is strong coffee, bit stale, roasted malts. Flavor is coffee, vanilla, roasted malt. Lightish body. Not bad, would be better if coffee was fresher.

Dark brown almost black A ton of aroma of roaster barley. Pretty well blended mix of the standard porter properties of coffee , barley, chocolate and cream. It’s good but thin

Draft. A red-brown beer with a thin brown head. The aroma has notes of sweet and roasted malt combined with notes of soy sauce and oatmeal. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of roasted malt, but also notes of boiled vegetables, leading to a dry roasted finish. The boiled vegetables is a brewing flaw.

pours brown, mocha head. Aroma of nice fresh coffee, chocolate malts, with hints of bitterness. Flavor, deep coffee and chocolate and roasted malts, hints of lactose/cream adding a nice smooth mouthfeel. Good coffee presence for such a light beer. Tasty!

On tap. Hazy dark brown with a tint of red and a small light brown head. Aroma of coffee and bitter chocolate. Medium body, sweetish roasted malt and distinct coffee accents with a light underlying tartness. Hardly any bitterness at all. 090709

From tap at the brewpub. Pours dark brown to black with a minimal off-white head. Roasted caramel and breadish aroma. Dry, slight herbal and roasted malt flavoured. Vague chalky touch. Bitter and slight acidic roasted malt flavoured finish with a light bitterness coming through.

Pours deep brown with copper edges and thin mocha head. I get a full roasty aroma with coffee, roasted malts, earthy organic notes and a bit of charred malts. The taste begins with both sweet malts and a layer of organic-ness. It then quickly turns coffee, burnt malts and a tang of hop bitterness.

Bomber. Poured black with fast dissipating beige head. Aroma of coffee and malt. Rather thin flavour, coffee, malt and roast. Not as full as you would expect from the aroma. Expresso like finish, with burnt toast notes.
