Draft @ The Ale house. Lightly hazy golden color with thin head. Served in a shaker glass. Aroma is citrus upfront with hints of floral note afterword’s.

Taste is more of a west coast fresh pine and grapefruit hops. Nice balance of biscuit and caramel malt. Mild earthiness leading into a smooth dry lingering moderately bitter pine finish. Pretty basic but the hops are nice and fresh. Refreshing on a warm evening.

12oz bottle from Georgio’s, Billerica, MA. A pale amber pour with a billowing off-white head; floral aroma; soft floral taste with some piney, resinous hops leaving a lingering fresh, grassy bitterness. Good, but not the best East Coast IPA.

Rcvd in trade.
The appearance has a somewhat hazy golden orange colored body that shows a nice deal of transparency. There is a one finger white foamy head that rises a bit and then falls leaving a nice deal of foamy white lacing sticking to the sides of the glass.
The smell is malty, earthy and grassy with a decent backing of citrus.
The taste is sweet and earthy through the citrus and malts combining to end up showcasing a sweet malty aftertaste that leads to a dry finish.
On the palate, she sits about a medium on the body, but not as sessionable as I had hoped for. Carbonation comes across fairly odd, but not so much in a bad, as its not harsh nor is it smooth.
Overall, for the most part, its not a bad AIPA, just seems a bit different to me perhaps closer to an EIPA with an added earthy and grassy sort of quality to enhance the beer. If given the chance, I’d seek on tap.

Draft at Roo bar in Plymouth, MA killing time prior to a wedding. Pours copper with fluffy head and nice hoppy citrus nose. Tastes of grapefruit, pine, malt, caramel, grass, and floral. Medium bodied and we’ll carbonated, a nice straightforward ipa with 7% abv as a bonus.

12 ounce bottle from Nikki’s Liquors, Providence. Tiny bit of a gusher. Pours a hazy orange color with a large creamy off-white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of big caramel malts with floral hops. The taste is floral, minty and tropical hops with a caramel malt backbone and strong notes of candied citrus. Medium bodied, very slight lingering bitterness. Decent.

i used to get mad at east coast brewers for brewing "english ipa’s". leave the malt heavy versions to the limey’s and lets kick up the hops american style! but now i dont care so much, its fine, not going to surprise anyone.
