Smells like old wet campfire. Dark brown but not opaque. Barely any fizz. Stoutlike in personality. A brown ale that looks like a brown ale but comes across like stout or porter on the palate. Finish is mild friendly porter or stout. Good beer experience. On tap at the brewery. Nice place.

Bottle from santa - dark amber pour with a frothy head - fairly nutty, typical brown ale aroma - fairly inviting - very hoppy and herbal up front - the hoppiness subsides, leaving a semi-dry, cocoa and hazelnut quality - pretty nice for the style - quite under-rated.
