The bottled Thames Welsh ESB starts an opaque dark brown color with a creamy head. Bold, rich malty aromas first leap from the glass. The complex malts offer sherry-like notes. The medium-bodied brew delivers a dry, malty flavor that is well rounded and matched with a very smooth mouthfeel. At 6.5% ABV, it makes an impressive showing as a full-flavored Extra Special Bitter that features more than just hops.

Nice brown colored beer with highlights of deep ruby red. Small head. Caramel aroma matches the malty sweet flavors. Very little hop assertion. Moves off with a nice dry finish. Not your usual ESB, but a nice brew nevertheless.
