AUTUMN - Traditionally brewed to celebrate the harvest season, this reddish-brown lager has a rich caramel character and a long flavorful finish. Its delicious malty sweetness is nicely accented by a slightly fruity bouquet and a mild hop flavor.

Pours copper, beige head.Aroma is grainy, wheat and malty. Some nice notes of caramel and sugar Taste, lots of malts and caramel giving it a nice and smooth taste. Mouthfeel is unique, lost of ncie caramel, make this one a good seasonal brew.

Shocking that it has taken me this long to try a Sprecher beer. This seasonal pours a dark copper color with a medium light tan head that diminishes pretty quickly. Stringy lacing. Caramel malt aroma with touches of fruit and hops. Medium-bodied and smooth with roasted malt, caramel and plum flavors. Touches of mildly bitter hops are there as well. The finish is short and sweet with a caramel aftertaste. Overall this is an above average Oktoberfest.

Pour is a dark brown with a average tan head. Aroma is a decent amount of dark malts and and under the radar hops. Flavor is all things malt. Very heavy and some caramel show up. An ok marzen. Like most from Sprecher they are always average but cheap.

Copper color with thin off white head. Sweet malt and caramel malt aroma. Flavor is lots of caramel malts. Hop bite coming from what taste like Saaz hops.

Bottle. Strong malt aroma with maple syrup notes. Dark reddish amber color. Maple syrup and malt flavor. Smooth drinking. A very nice Oktoberfest beer with a bit of an American twist.

Light aroma of, oddly, Phad Thai and minimal malt. Light amber color; it looks like a Vienna. Simple but appropriate malt flavor, however, it lacks body. OK for the style.

2003 Bottle. Deep orange with some brown/tan hues. Clear and bubbly. Head is small and white, good amount of lacing. Aroma is of some sweet mellow fruit, earthy malt and a touch of alcohol. Beer begins with a big lightly sweet caramel malt flavor that is lightly roasted. Medium-full body that holds up very well. No thinning or wateriness. Some sweet fruit flavors come out (light apricot/pear). But my favorite part was the hops that begins subtle and finishes with a magnificent balance that adds a nice amount of spiciness, and a touch of bitterness. Good mouthfeel, big and bubbly. My favorite oktoberfest to date probably. Still would like to see some sediment and more head. A bit reserved in malt flavor, could use some more. Slightly dry and grainy towards end. Bet this would be great on tap.

Draft Looks like there's a lot more variety in Okto beers than any style definition can contain, especially when American brewers are involved. Sprecher offers a nice dark complexion with a good roasty malt character. This, in turn, counterbalances the usual sweetness of an Okto, leading it to a dry finish. Still, the mouthfeel comes in a little thinner than expected, but a good effort.
