Draught @ WABF 2008. Pours a slightly hazy orange color with a small off-white head. Hoppy malty grapefruit aroma. Very malty and hoppy bitter grapefruit flavor. Long malty hoppy bitter finish with a long bitter aftertaste with hints of grapefruit.

Bomber from Bottle Trek. Hazy red tinged amber color with minimal beige ring. Aroma seems to be hugely grapefruit, but there is a hint of malt. Medium body with rather creamy carbonation. It’s mostly hop over a little roasted caramel. Pretty much grapefruit rind with some floral aspects. Finish is pretty dry, but there’s still enough sugar to call it balanced - maybe. Pretty hoppy brew.

Bottle: Copper with a smaller beige head, sticky lacing. Rich aroma of citrus and sweet floral hops. Soothingly smooth flavor of citrus hops, light floral, and a smooth yet light amount of caramel maltiness. Nice bitter trailer. Very drinkable and overall I enjoyed this quite a lot.

Many thanks to 11026 for the bottle. Sediment-laden, hazy fiery orange body, medium pillowy cream head. Citrusy aroma, dirty, with spicy hops and sweet caramel notes. Earthy. The body is mineraly, as in dissolved vitamins. Earthy, spicy hops linger but are clearly faded. A bit piney. Through the weakened hops shine tart, sweet malt. Fair.

2005 bomber from LarryPitonka shared with OldGrowth on 1/22/06. Clear light copper-yellow body with a large, bubbly white head that recedes very slowly. Full of tiny bottle conditioned bubbles and seemingly not phased from its 3 or 4 month rest in my refrigerator. Light lacing on the glass as well, while the head eventually fades to a ring. The nose shows dry, papery, centennial and cascade-like hop notes. Lemon, orangeskins, and when combined with the malt, a lightly tangy apricot thing going on. Very light on the malt, with no alcohol. High aroma strength, very clean too. The flavor boasts of more clean grapefruit and orange flavors, nearly undisturbed by the underlying malt. Malt is there more in texture, with only bits of lemon sponge cake, touches of toasted pale grains and a finish of grapefruit, lemons and peaches. Bitterness is rather tame at this point. I did detect the light mustiness, that Styles notes, as it got toward the bottom, and there was some light sediment in the bottle. Carbonation was very tame, small bubbled but rather out of the picture. Texture is smooth, not quite sweet and malty enough to be creamy, but dry and just sort of there. No alcohol is ever noted. Itβs funny but Alpine Pure hoppiness seems as much a double IPA as this one. Thanks AndrΓ©!

This pours a clear solid amber body that rouses a chunky head of off-white. Sweet malt and citrus aroma. Sweet start with hop bitterness in the finish. Very smooth and full palate and the alcohol is hidden nicely.

Bottle POurs a hazy deep golden color with a very large creamy off white head. Nice lacing as well. Robust hop aroma, and lots of sweet maltiness as well. Vanilla, citrus, and pine hops. Flavors are strong hopy punch, fruity, orange, pine, grapefruit. Feel is quite heavy and smooth with moderate carbonation. Pretty heavy bitterness at the end and the late aftertaste is more of the same.

Bright copper/orange coloured body with a nice dense off-white head. Aroma of piney hops, caster sugar, balanced malt apricots and cascade hops. Medium to Full-Bodied; Assertive hops bitterness with a pine and floral presence. Sweetness lingers on the palate and ends dry. Aftertaste is a bit sweet, slightly nutty and fairly hoppy. Overall, a solid beer, not great for the sytle-which is already not a favourite of mine! I bought this 65 cL bottle at Whole Foods in Vienna, Virginia and sampled it on 04-January-2004.
