This Select Special Edition Summer Ale is an unfiltered and refreshingly smooth white ale. It is brewed with malted barley and unmalted wheat. This wheat ale features a blend of spices. A hint of orange peel and a twist of lemon makes this ale a thirst quenching experience you will savor!

Bottle. Aroma of citrus, wheat and mild spice. Hazy gold color with no significant head. Perhaps a touch of anise. Less than medium in body with fizzy carbonation that turns soft. Itβs citrus/coriander, wheat and not much spice at all. Pleasant, but not so flavorful as most European wits. As time passes, it seems flavors develop, and it turns very tasty.

Yeasty lemon and clove aroma. Hazy yellow with TONS of sediment, no head. Heavy clove flavor, little else. Lemon grass finish. Mediocre and seemingly tainted wheat, but decent tasting.

Brown 12 oz bottle. Pop the lid for an odd old leather aroma. Good wheat smells and attractive bouquet. Pour is cloudy and light like a wheat beer. Swirling and attractive hazy show. Has gunk on the bottom of the bottle. Has an interesting particled head and froth for a topper. Very creamy initial hit on the palate from good small fine bubble carbonation. Lovely wheat flavors. Fine example of a well brewed wheat style beer. Happy, friendly and fun to be with, no alky apparent while drinken. Finish is a little flat but thatβs OK considering the other senses firing. No bitter hints can be found. Easy to drink. Perhaps not as refined as a witbier should be but certainly better than the typical wheats or hefes.

Bottle. Maybe it caught me in a foul mood, but I didnβt particularly care for this one. The aroma is flat out aweful. Dirty dishwater that gives off a bit of a clove/coriander scent. Maybe even a little more septic than dishwater. Pours a hazy light straw color and has little head to speak of. Flavor is a little better, but still, rather bland. There are cloves and wheat in there, but nothing really exciting except for a hint of lemon peels now and then. Mouthfeel is light, but strangely oily at the same time. I thougth this would be a little more interesting, but it is fairly directionless.

An hazy yellowish ale with a thick creamy white head. Aroma of cloves, lemon, orange and sulfur. In mouth, wheat malt with lemon juice and peppery hops...I had one of my BYO beers taste like this. Amateurish. $3.98 for a 6-pack, BOTW, OCt. 2006, same batch as Probstk and Gonzo.

Hazy pale yellow color with huge chunks of sediment floating around. Thin white head that disappears quickly and there is slick lacing. Mildly spiced aroma of coriander with a bit of lemon zest. Light-bodied and the flavor makes me wonder if the bottle is not from this past summer, but from a summer long ago. Sour fruit dominates, with some clove and wheat. The finish is tart and fruity. This one may have sat on the shelf too long, but whatever the cause, I did not enjoy it.

Bottle. Musty aroma with notes of lemon, banana, bubblegum, and clove - great smell. Cloudy orange-yellow color with small head. Light musty lemon/grapefruit flavor - pretty light. A very nice witbier with some lambic/saison characteristics.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours a hazy golden with a small, fine, white head. Very perfumy coriander nose. Light-bodied with distinct citrus and coriander. Very refreshing and a worthy example of the style. Tasted at the Oklahoma Beer tasting March 06 hosted by mjames and lilannie. 250306

A nice little wit, with some kolsch-ey characteristics as well. Lemony aroma, with spicy notes of thyme and just a bare hint of banana. Phenols show up in the palate. Even, clean finish, with some spice, and thankfully not too many hops. Not very attractice though: cloudy dull gold-yellow - large bubbles on the sides of the glass, but virtually no head, and no lacing.
