Color castaño oscuro, espuma blanco hueso de buena persistencia y encaje. En nariz emana matices que transmiten sensación agria y afrutada, notas de frutos rojos, frutos del bosque, caramelo, madera, vainilla, recuerdos de vino y sidra... En boca es agridulce, ligeramente ácida en la superficie con una curiosa melodía acarameladas de fondo, cuerpo medio, algo seca, sabrosa, notas de bayas y frutos del bosque, caramelo, ciruela roja...no es fácil describir esta delicia. En realidad es precisamente esta cerveza una de las pruebas más significativas de mi evolución como aficionado catador de birras. Hace ya unos cuantos años, con ninguna experiencia en este estilo y escasa cultura y conocimiento cervecero por mi parte (aunque con enormes ganas de aprender) la probé por primera vez y a punto estuve de escupir de mi boca el primer trago de lo sorprendentemente poco atractiva que me resultó en el paladar, ahora me doy cuenta de mi profunda ignorancia de aquel entonces , más que un paladar tenía una alpargata en la boca. Hoy en día me resulta un brebaje sublime, y lo que me queda por aprender...

Draught at Meltzer Beer House, very little head, cloudy very dark red colour, aroma of minerals and glue with hints of horse sweat and brown bread, flavor of cherries, bread and a bit of glue behind, light sourness, dominant sweetness though not cloying. Nice and drinkable but much simpler then I expected.

Color entre coca cola y rojizo. Intenso y complejo aroma donde predomina el caramelo, notas de bodega, madera, y acidez. En boca perfecta de gas y donde aparece todo lo del aroma junto con alguna nota láctea y notas de vinagre balsámico en el retrogusto. Predominio de acidez, que impregna la boca en el post-trago. Compleja, y sin duda una gran cerveza, no para todos los gustos.

Bottle at home. Pours reddish brown with off-white head. Nose is funky brett, vineous notes, low woody touch, fruits. Taste is a beautiful, rich mixture of funk, grapes, woody character, sweet and tart fruits. It's actually so rich and deep taste-wise that it's on the verge of overwhelming. Light to medium body, average to high carbonation, pleasant sipper. I'm glad that I somehow missed this until now, I might have not appreciated it as much before.

29-01-2020 Aromat kwaśny lekko owocowy jakby gruszkowy, ale pierwszy zapach bardziej winny, w tle wanilia. Klarowne, czerwono brązowe z beżową pianą szybko znikającą. Smak kwaśny głównie; wanilia, czerwona porzeczka, wiśnia, pomarańcza, taniczne. Nagazowanie duże, średnie ciało, trochę ściąga. Ogólnie fajne winne piwo, warto spróbować i pić

Old rating from 2017 - 330ml bottle brought back from Belgium. Pours brown with a white head. Aromas & tastes of cherries, plums, raisins, spice, sour grapes & funk yeast. Medium body. Dry finish

Pours a dark red with a beige head. Aroma of wine and red fruits such as cherry, tart. Taste is sour fruit. Really nice example of the style.
