At Borefts. Swedish oak aged RIS with thickly lacing, beige head and very dark burgundy brown colour bordering on black. Aroma of bitter chocolate, coffee grounds, raisins soaked in brown rhum, sherry, salmiac, bourbon, dried plums, vanilla. Candied sweetness in onset with a sourish balance to it, deep and multi-layered malt body of caramel, toast, hazelnuts, chocolatey and some roasted coffee beans, thick mouthfeel with soft carbo, long rich finish of bittersweet maltiness, roastedness but gently so, whisky-like warming alcohol, drying woody tannins and earthy hop bitterness. Very accomplished and remarkable even in this, perhaps, somewhat over-cultivated style.
