The underrated dark horse of the original Augment trio; Patternist gained a massive following thanks to its no frills El Dorado and Simcoe hop bill, albeit hopped up to the absolute nines, and its ornate tiling artwork garnering amazing feedback. We’ve revisited beer two of the three original Augment beers with another run in tallboys, and treated with all the new techniques we’ve learned in the last half a year. Expect all kinds of high juice and low bitterness notes bursting from this incredible IPA – welcome back, Patternist.

Hazy yellow colour with a mediumsized white foamy head. Aroma is floral, some fruity, mild citrusy and catpissy tones with mild wooden tones and oats. Flavour is very similar to the aroma. Smoothly balanced. Nice one.

(very) cloudy yellow/orange pour with a small white head. Aromas of pine, mango, fir tree, grapefruit. Taste is grapefruit, other citrus, a bit of mango and malt - decent bitter finish.

On tap at The Craft Beer Co - St Mary Axe, pours an opaque dirty yellow with a small white head. Aroma is chalky as hell, with lots of hopburn, stone fruit pith, and some earthy hops. Flavour is full of hopburn, with lots of chalk, earthy hopburn, and dry biscuity malt. Earthy, chalky, hopburny finish. Not good at all.

Tap at Murphys. Cloudy dull orange. Sweet oats, orange zest, leafy, marzipan, marihuana, endive. Quite sweet, lighter bitter. Creamy medium bodied. A bit too sugary for me, bit not bad.

Draught Very good, fine & dense yellowish head, very regular, over muddy orange-ochre beer with lacerings. Freshly cut orange(peel), very lightly soapy, lupulin. Sweet-ish at first, again orange as main flavourcomponent. Quite bitter, dry-woody character. Finish on the verge of empty. Medium bodied, very hopoilslick, viscous. Medium to good carbonation. Again one that evokes "been there, done that".
