Singular in heft and layered with symphonic grace. Lofty notes of maple, brown sugar, and candied pecan suggest sweetness before a dry, rye-forward terminus.

Djupröd med väldigt lite skum. Doft av kola, karamell och alkohol. Smaken domineras av ekfat och alkohol. Lite kola och farin kan anas. Lite för stark för sitt eget bästa.

On tap at Revolution Brewpub, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma brings out caramel malt, bready malt, and earthy rye. Flavour is rich, with lots of caramel malt, earthy notes, resinous hops, and bready malt. Sweet and caramely with just enough spicy malt to back. Robust and intense. Excellent in small quantities.

December 2021 can, drunk 1/9/23. Clear amber-honey. Small, dark beige head shows low retention. Soft, well-aged honey-and-vanilla nose with caramel, maple and treacle-like character. Nutty, subtley rich rye with somehow no alcohol. Good tannin and some acidity to balance. Clean. Soft, rich, nutty and moderately sweet. Not explosively flavorful nor nearly as dense as most of the beers in this class, with a bit of thinning on the end. But it makes up a lot of ground in actual elegant flavors with soft, easygoing, well-aged barrel character, a good sweet/acid balance and tons of soft, vanilla-like character. A sipper for sure, not on account of the intensity, but more to really pick up on all the interesting flavors.

2022 can from the brewery. It pours darkest brown with a lasting tan cap. The aroma is sweet, oily, unctuous, vanilla fudge, nutty, pecan pie, light spice, heady notes of bourbon & rye whiskey, dried fruits, fruit cake and toasted brown sugars. The taste is slick, oily, unctuous, sweet, rich, decadent, deep bourbon & rye character, bourbon soaked oak, vanilla fudge, touch of spice, raisin, sultana, nuttiness, Dundee cake, bourbon biscuits, brown bread, hint of coffee even and some pleasing alcohol warmth. Finish is slick and sweet. Fulsome body, fine to moderate carbonation and slightly oily mouth feel. Good depth of flavour, robust and someone balanced. Enjoyable stuff.
0,3 litre Can, from a trade, shared with Bergstaden. Dark brown with little beige head. Malts, hops, rye, bourbon, sweetness, oak, Smooth.
