Bavarian Lager. The decree states that only four ingredients can be used when making beer: barley, hops, yeast and water. The result is a lager with a crisp finish and a rich golden colour.

Part of their Summer Craft mixed 6-pack at the LCBO. Pours a golden colour with a big white head, good retention and nice dirty lacing. Smells quite grainy, like some oat, but with a little wet straw. Malty taste with some light honey notes. Nothing too sweet, just pretty malty overall. Quite different malt though, which makes this one unique and interesting.

Pretty tasteless. Besides not being offensive, there is no real taste of grain, or anything at all really.

2010-03-16, draught at Big Ridge, Surrey, BC, 4-2-4-2-7=19
Blond color. Bland corny Lager; I can only make a shandy out of it.
2008-07-30, draught at The Railway Club, Vancouver, 4-2-5-2-9=22
Blond color. A quite common Lager, with quite strong bitterness.

Draught at The Railway Club, Vancouver. Clear golden. Buttery malt aroma. Sweet with rounded mouthfeel. Some light grassy hops, but plenty of buttery malt. Fairly low bitterenss. A gentle, dortmunder-like lager.

Bottle. Golden-straw colour; light malt nose - bread crust- with light noble hops. Soft body with sweet bready notes, but lighter than the draught, where the bread was very assertive. Crisp finish. Light earthy hop notes. Zippy carbonation. Definitely less assertive this time around, more hoppy too.
Initial rating: Golden colour. Very fresh bread aroma and flavour. Clearn, with a hint of grassy hop. A little overcarbonated, but nonetheless really captures the big, fresh malt character of the style.
