From old rating @ Fiere Margriet. Hazy golden colour, white foam. Rather sweet, nose of pineapple, citrus, papaya. Not a bad tripel.

Oranje geel bier met veel stevig schuim. Smaak is krachtig, zoet en kruidig met iets van ananas, honing, zoet fruit en kaneel.

Bottle half a year past best before date from the cheapo bin. Hazy dark golden with big fluffy long lasting cream colored head. Sweet malts and flowers, cumin, coriander, honey, some cheese, cardboard. More cumin. Over medium sweet with some alcoholic and spicy bitterness. Over medium bodied. There’s way to much cumin, it’s like that cumin cheese my parents used to eat.

Bottle shared. Hazy orange with a medium off white head. Aroma is floral, big perfume aspects, a little soapy, honey, like walking past one of those fancy soap stores. Caramel malt, light yeast and coriander coming up behind. Flavour is above moderate sweet and light moderate bitter. Above medium bodied with light carbonation.

Even more complicated version of Zonderik Tripel, apparently refermented with champagne yeast. The ’X’ in the name refers to the ABV. Medium thick, off-white, sticky head, colour hazy orangey blonde. Aroma of Roquefort cheese, gingerbread, coriander, honey, butterscotch, yeast, exotic fruits, some tannins. Complex taste with sweetish onset, fruity and vinous, spicy notes, soft caramelly malt background, aromatic spiced and hoppy finish with a hint of woodiness and warming alcohol. Really interesting and considerably better than the regular version, at least in my experience.

Bottle at Barely Legal Tasting Room Pours Dark yellow / orange . Good and stable white head . Smell is grainy, bit sweet, bit bitter, very in balance . Taste is very complex . Oak, buttery , grains, sweet ( vanilla ) , almost like ... bourbon ? Just on the borther of overpowering, but just right... Slightly bitter , some malty sweetness . Some honey . Nowhere on the bottle / this site , it officially sais this one is barrel aged .. But tastewise ? i’d be very surprised if it were not ... Nice one !

Slightly hazy medium amber colour, one finger frothy off-white head, recedes slowly to thin layer, lively carbonation. Fresh aroma sweet malty, fruity, spices (coriander, caraway), yeast, citrus. Fruity flavour, medium sweet and slightly bitter. Full body, alcohol well hidden, oily texture, lingering mild bittersweet finish, more dry spicy bitterness towards the end.

33 cl. bottle @ home. Procured from Willems. BBF 04/09/2014. This is a tripel according to the bottle. Pours amber golden, clear, creamy white head. Nose is sweet, thick white sugar, white grapes, sweet white grapes, white glazing, liqueur, cake, honey, very sweet BE yeast, white cupcakes, very pleasing smell. Tastes of honey, white grapes, thick white sugar, light condensed milk, cupcakes, clear alcohol, kumquat liqueur, bit obscured by a less interesting floral & BE yeast profile. Slightly oily, sugary, decent carb. Bit warming, quite a unique & interesting taste profile, not optimal but still very pleasing. Be sure to let this beer warm up.
