Clear dark brown beer, creamy beige irregular to brown head, stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: coffee, weird touch, cocoa powder, vegetal notes. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: sourish, very meaty, weird, candy, some strawberry and raspberry jam. Aftertaste: bit sourish, fishy, soft roast, bitter notes, weird, raspberries.

Bottle at home. Almost black with dark beige head. Lots of raspberry syrup, roasted grains, coffee, pink pepper corns, licorice, weird dried and smoked fruit notes, cocoa powder. Medium bitter, sweet and light sour. Over medium bodied. Doesn’t all work together that well. Spices, raspberry and roasted notes clash a bit on my palate. Still a decent beer all considered.

On tap at Cafe Gollem, Amsterdam on 18th March 2016. Deep solid ruby-black with tan head and spot lacing. Richly fruity aroma with roasty malts. Peppery malts and raspberry tang in-mouth and finish. Fair-bodied with a smooth mouthfeel.

330ml bottle, from trade. Pours dark with tan head. Aroma is raspbery, chocolate and roast. Taste is roast with sweet raspberry, chocolate and light spice with an undefined sourness. Kind of on the fence with one.

33 cl bottle (with the better label) @ home. Black color. Brown head, with not too long retention. Aroma’s: raspberry, sweet & sour fruit, some roast, caramel. Flavor is moderate sweet, with some fruity sourness and light roasty bitterness. Medium bodied. Finish is a little bit dry, light roasty bitter. I quite liked this.

Huge dark beige head, quite clinging and stable, over virtually black, utterly opaque beer. Raspberry immediately perceptible in the aroma. Further roast, liquorice and speculaas/speculaasspices. After some time, a black pepper aroma emerges. Sweet-roasted. Stout acidity, enhanced by the CO². Faint chili-like heat after some time, but the fruitiness from the raspberries, so very obvious in the nose, seems gone, even retronasal. Bit sticky, quite slick, feels very carbonated. Nose promised more than the tasting deliverd, pity.

Bottle at home. Black beer small head. Aroma is black pepper, malt, chocolate. Taste is raspberry, chocolate, malt. Very nice.
