From tap at Brauerei Greifenklau, Bamberg. Aroma is malty with dark bready notes, caramel, nuts, and straw. Flavour is a bit sweet with a decent bitterness. Body is medium. They really know how to make smooth Lagers in these parts, and this is a fine example. The wonderful biergarten view added to the experience.

500 ml bottle. Pours clear dark golden with a foamy head. Full malt, grain, hay and grassy hops, bread, straw, citrus, iron. Malty sweetness, dry metallic bitterness. Rather full bodied for a Helles, oily texture, lively carbonated, dry malty grainy grassy metallic sweet finish. A very good süffiges Helles, has everything you would expect from this style.
11/10/2001. GREIFENKLAU, Laurienziplatz 20, BAMBERG, Bayern, Germany
Bottle online from Raynville Superstore. Pours a clear copper colour with a medium sized throthy white head. Aromas of grains, hay and a little honey. Taste has sweet grains, hay, bread, honey and also a touch biscuity. Very malty beer with hardly any bitterness and just a tiny earthy hop on the finish. Nice mineral quality and perfect carbonation creates a nice tangy mouthfeel. Medium body and slightly oily mouthfeel. Very decent Lager.

Bottle from Raynville Stores. It pours clear amber with with a lasting fluffy white head. The aroma is spicy, nutty, brioche sesame seed burger bun, biscuit and soft sweetness. The taste is crispy, snappy, dry, bitter - sweet character, sturdy malt base, bready, biscuit, light toffee, brioche, soft pear - melon fruitiness, dry grass, nuttiness and cereal with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate, prickly carbonation. More malt character than expected, but it works well being so crisp. Quenching.
