Thornbridge Imperial Raspberry Stout. We all know that drinking beer is a congenital pastime and brewing beer can be just as fraternal. This collaboration between Rob Lovatt of Thornbridge and Jessica Heidrich St. Eriks is testament to the friendship and inspiration that brewing can produce.
This Imperial Raspberry Stout pours rich and dark with aromas and tastes of liquorice and chocolate, complimented by the generous infusion of prime Scottish raspberries.

Pitch Black, dark beige head. There might be some dark malts, but it’s mostly raspberries and raspberry marmalade. The taste is nice balance between fresh raspberries, dark malts and a dry bitter finish. Full-bodied, yet juicy and easy drinking. Excellent. 7-4-8-5-16=4,0
30-JUN-2016. BOTTLE 50 CL. Clear dark muddy brown, dark beige head. Rotten raspberries and tinned tomato paste. The taste is very low on sweetness, again, the rotten raspberries, and a weird roasty character, which i can only describe as „a coffee brewed out of roasted beans”. Might be a bad bottle. 5-4-6-3-12=3,0

Bottle thanks to Stuu666. Appearance - opaque black with a lovely fawn head. Nose - tonnes of raspberry, there’s chocolate if you really look for it. Taste - more of the same. The raspberries are seriously intense. Palate - close to medium bodied with a tangy texture and a long dry tangy finish. Overall - good beer.

Bottle (from koht). Pours black with beige head. The head stays for a moment. Aroma is sweet, raspberries, slight soapiness. Flavor is sweet, slight bitterness, soap, malt, some roast. Finish has some dry-roast bitterness. Body feels light. Bottle:As black as ink, stable tanned foamy layer;solid aroma of (almost fresh) raspberries, in the second row distinctive aromas of toasted malt plus a slight acidity, moderate sourish-bitter flavour, medium bodied; lingering - again very fruity (raspberries, unexpectedly…) and sour roasty finish, alcohol is very well hidden. Yeah! A very complex, extremely well crafted brew…

500ml bottle shared at the Hoppy Pub, Thessaloniki. Dark brown almost black color with beige head. Malty and fruity aroma, roasted, chocolate, milk chocolate, licorice, caramel, raspberries - berries. Sweet, bitter and light acidic taste like aroma. Medium to full oily body with soft carbonation.

(bottle, vintage 2013) Dark brown, almost black coloured hue with a beige and firm medium-sized foamy head. Elegant raspberry-fruity aroma with mildly dark and roasty malty notes, balanced by a whiff of liquorice and chocolate. Mildly sour-fruity and slightly bitter flavour, medium to full bodied with a smooth and well-carbonated mouthfeel. Raspberry-laden fruit character with rounded Stout flavours like dark chocolate, liquorice and faint traces of vanilla; long lasting fruity and balanced malty finish with sour and moderately roasty bitter accents, the alcohol is barely detectable. Flaske delt med Rune på rbhd-treff etter bokpresentasjon på Cardinal juni-15: nesten helt svart med tett lysebrunt skum, så den intense bringebæraromaen kommer nesten som en overraskelse. Deilig og fyldig smak, og på ingen måte så søt som aromaen kunnne få en til forvente. Syrligfrisk, og med laang ettersmak.

500ml bottle at Cardinal kindly shared by Holmen1. Nice crocheted lacing from a tan-coloured head. More or less jet black in body colour. Prominent smell of raspberry and black malts, semi-dry. Similar mixed taste of berry skins and earthy, dark malts with hints of coffee. Tart and sweet ending. Smooth on the swallow. Fine bodied. Good drinking (Stavanger 18.06.2015).
