2011 vintage bottle from Beers’n’more. Pours dark ruby. Aroma of dried plums. Heavy and full taste. Not typical, but delicious!

Vintage 2011. Dark brown color with amber highlight and tan head. Sweet fruity flavour, fermented prunes, red berries, dark fruits, balsamico, oak, the wine barrel gives a heaviness. Taste is oaky, sweet-sour, lots of berries, nice warming tart finish. Superbly balanced, super-easy to drink for such a complex beer. Amazing, I love it! (drank at just a little bit below room temperature)

Bottle. Pretty much black with a light tan head that soon fades to the rim. Aroma of berries, oak, cider and balsamic vinegar, stems. A bit more than a hint of nail polish remover, but even a little bit is a problem when it makes you recoil. Sour but with lush fruit and quite intense caramel, oak, stems and some herbal notes. Hard to rate - nearly great but not right.

Bottle 2011. Nose is vanilla, oak, leather, lots and lots of red wine from the barrel, grapes, emerging green apple. Taste is extraordinarily tart, sherry, vinegar, vanilla, green apple, very strong red wine notes, emerging chocolate, red berries. Mouthfeel is very full. Rating this is hard, it’s very balanced and the tartness worked well with preventing the wine barrel from becoming over powering, and I enjoyed it, but it was more interesting than great.

330ml bottle (2011) @ monthly tasting, Chez Sophie, July 19. Thanks Jeremy for this. As below, crisp, tangy sweet liquorice. Excellent. MAY 20 2015 330ml bottle. Pours dark with a copper hue. Sweet liquorice aroma. Lip-puckering tart sourness before a razor sharp woody, smokey bitterness. Complex, dark & captivating. This is a monster compared to the original.

This beer is so deep dark that you normally will say it is black. Especially when it is normally an evening sipper. Well it looks anyway very nice with that thick tan head on top. Solid lacing also. Typical sour and fruity aroma. Also some wood and mild vinegar. Full thick body and a pleasant carbonation. Nice balance between sweetness and acidity. Quite easy drinkable for a complex beer like this. Fruity, mild vinegar, wood and some cherries in the flavor. Tasty little devil.
