Agent Provocateur is a Belgian style golden ale brewed with floral and citrus aromatic American hops. The Amarillo and Cascade hops combined with a small amount of light crystal malt give an orange marmalade character that melds with the Belgian yeast spiciness to give a complex, aromatic beer.

(Bottle, Platåkåtan, Åre, Sweden, 22 March 2017) Golden amber colour with frothy, white head. Malty, hoppy nose with crystal malt, citrus, grapefruit and a touch of resin. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of citrus, grapefruit, resin, dried apricots, marmalade and a generous citric bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Fresh and tasty, with a generous hop character. Nice one.

Bottle from Eebira. Hazy pale Goden colour with a thick white head. Aroma is slight yeasty, apricot, slight spice. Taste dry, citrus zest, dry finish.

Bottle from Firma Bier, BB 26/02/17, large sample. Almost clear orange color, medium soapy head. Aroma of some carame, spicy yeast, bit coriander, slight orange, bit biscuit. Soft bitterness in taste, spicy, slight sweet caramel, bit tea. Spicy in the finish. Medium carbonation. Ok.

33cl bottle from Firmabier. Pours golden color with a thick white head, some haze. Belgian yeast, apricots, grapes and spiciness in aroma. Drinkability is good, ok carbonation. Hoppy, dry, zesty flavors, some hay and apricots. Wheaty dry finish. Quite nice really.

Bottle shared at home. Clear golden with short lasting white head that leaves quite some lacing. Soft orange and apricot, cloves, minerals and light biscuits. Light sweet and almost medium bitter. Medium bodied with dry feel.

(Bottle, 0.33 l, at tiong’s tasting, thanks, 20160109) The beer poured golden and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had hops and Belgian style yeast. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, hops, Belgian style yeast, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was fruity and bitter. A decent hop-forward Belgian style ale.

A golden ale with a thick frothy lacing white head. In aroma, nice biscuit malt with grassy floral hops, grapefruit pulp, light tropical fruits, OK. In mouth, biscuit malt with citrusy floral hops, a bit of Pledge cleaner, a bit thin bodied, OK. Bottle from Le Bon Marché, April 2015.

Almost clear medium amber colour, small foamy white to off-white head, settles quickly, light lacing. Fruity nose, orange peel, light grapefruit, grass, light herbal. Taste light sweet and medium bitter, citrusy, herbal notes. Medium body, oily to creamy texture, soft carbonation. Medium dry bitter and grassy finish, herbal/spicy notes, a nice well-hopped Blonde.

330ml bottle. Minimally cloudy, orangey, faint golden colour with average to huge, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Rather expressionless, citrusy and minimally grassy-herbal hoppy aroma, mayhap a touch of lime and lemongrass with goodwill. Taste is dry, slightly grassy and fruity hoppy, notes of green apple, apple parings, minimally bready, sweet-ish caramel malty basis. Slightly monotonous and anaemic. Provokes if anything indifference, given that this oxymoronic conclusion is allowed.
