Overwhelming ginger sweet honey. Rich and sweet but not that interesting to be honest

From 375 bottle. Appearance is a sort of a copper-rose color. The aroma is quite strong with some ginger and oak barrel. The flavor, like the aroma, is ginger, honey, and oak barrel. Somehow all these flavors come together quite nicely. The oak barrel provides a bit of bitterness to off-set the honey. The palate is full. Finishes long and sticky. Overall: decent mead. much enjoyed.

Flaska från USA. Osäker på batch, men troligtvis 7 eller däromkring. Klar blekguldig.

Batch 1 bottle courtesy of Linus. Clear pale golden pour leaving some pronounced legs on the glass with a swirl. Nose-tingling ginger & fresh American oak nose. Moist soil & hints of damp moss. Very light floral honey & vanilla hard candy. Sweet, spicy & earthy taste. Round, slightly viscous & oily mouthfeel. Very balanced with ginger, honey & barrel all playing their parts in harmony. Light very suiting barrel mellowness which impressed me. Very nice! --- Beer merged from original tick of Schramm's Lord Jim on 29 Apr 2017 at 20:49 - Score: 9.
