A deep black porter with a caramel tan head. Big aromas and flavours of treacle, toffee and liquorice with hints of chocolate and coffee. A lingering roasted malt bitterness returns from the dead with bite.

Aus der Flasche im 2014-04 getrunken. Das doch recht klassische Porter mit seiner hell beigen Schaumkrone und leichten Karamell- und Schokolandenaroma kommt mir am Ende dann doch recht leicht daher.

Bottle. Nice chocolate and dark malt nose. Rather light in body, easy drinking, nice flavors but for the abv not a whole lot of punch. Decent.

Bottle. Pretty much black. Aroma us quite rich, almost imperial in its treacly quality. Fairly thick creamy body. Lots of chocolatey depth, dark and delicious. Not much nuance beyond that, but some good dessert beer quality.

Tap at t’Klooster, Delft. Poured a murky dark brown with a thin tan head. The aroma is liqourice, roasted malt, sweet fruit and a hint of dark chocolate. The flavour is medium bitter with a smooth dry hop spicy bitter palate and short bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Really refreshing beer with some lovely hoppiness in the palate. Well balanced indeed.
