A deep black porter with a caramel tan head. Big aromas and flavours of treacle, toffee and liquorice with hints of chocolate and coffee. A lingering roasted malt bitterness returns from the dead with bite.

On tap @ Borefts 2013. A deep dark brown one with a light islandy and sidesticking dark brown head. Smells of woody vanilla chocolate. A bit like home made vanilla chocolate ice cream actually, and I definitely like how that smells. A little bit of sweet dark malts here also. Sharp strong in the taste. A good amount of that woody vanilla found in the aroma. It's almost lively, well at least above average on the carbonation and it has a light oily mouthfeel. Quite taste, the chocolate lingers in the aftertaste. Zomting I could drink again! 28.09.2013

(bottle, 33cl) Almost black colour with a brown mid-sized foamy head. Moderately roasted malty aroma with notes of chocolate, coffee, liquorice and vanilla. Mildly sweet and roasty bitter flavour, medium bodied with a smooth carbonation. Roasty malt-character upfront with distinctive notes of dark chocolate, coffee and a whiff of dried fruits; bitter-sweet roasty finish with notes of dark chocolate, mocha and a tinge of alcohol in the aftertaste. 20.XII.13

Flasch: Literally black, big and slowly collapsing loose tanned head, leather, liquorice, toasted malt and dried fruits in the nose; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied and very creamy; lingering dry - but not too dry - toasty-fruity finish. Superb stuff, no doubtβ¦

Bottle from Jacks Westholme Stores, Goring-on-Thames, Oxon, consumed at home Monday 23rd December 2013 This is bloody great, its up there with a stonger Impy Stout/Porter. I love the label βIts the end of the world and I feel Fyneβ excellent. Soft in mouth, smooth with a nice slick creamy coffee and wonderful roastiness and even a bit of burnt toast. Some tart tangy fruit with a warmth from the alcohol. Loz just gave me a little bit of camemebert whilst I wait for me tea which was lovely but thats rather scuppered the rest of me rating. Bottle on the train from Thurso to Inverness, from Tomlinsons, 20/10/13. Light black with a moderate tan covering. Nose is dark malts, big fruity punch, liqourice, dark toffee, light cocoa, hop presence, light smoke. Taste comprises treacle toffee, suggestion of booze, dark sugars, toffee fudge, light roast, hoppy backnotes. Medium bodied with bite, soft carbonation, smooth on the palate with a lick of booze in the finale. Decent stuff.

330ml Bottle - Black with a tan head. Liquorice, coffee, fudge and a hint of blackcurrant in the aroma. Roasted, chocolatey and smooth taste with notes of coffee, milk chocolate, treacle, liquorice and fudge. Really nice and very easy to drink for its strength. A great recipe brewed by a fantastic brewery.
