Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. 2020 vintage. Aroma is dark chocolate, coffee, roasted malt, espresso, mocha, chalky notes, coffee beans, hint of fruits and bourbon-impregnated oak. Flavour is moderate to medium sweet with a nice roasty bitterness. Full body. Rich and very tasty, loads of chocolate and coffee, great brew.

Bottle from Mikkeller webshop as 2020 edition (11.5 ABV). Pours opaque dark brown with huge dark brown head. Aroma is intense malt syrup, coffee, chocolate, vanilla and hints is soy sauce. Taste is medium to very sweet, medium bitter, light acidic and light salty. Body us oily with soft carbonation. Finish is long and balanced sweet, bitter and light acidic with notes of rotated malt, coffee, chocolate, vanilla, milk and hints of oak and soy sauce.

Bottle split at the Autumn Watford tasting, thanks to Tipple, 24/09/21. Pitch black with a solid dirty tan covering. Nose is dark malts, dark chocolate, coffee, light charr, dried fruits. Taste comprises coffee cup cake, chocolate, mellow spice, molasses, fruit cake. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost. Decent impy.

Bottle shared in Watford - cheers to Tips. Pours deep black-brown with a small, foamy tan head. Medium sweet flavour, lots of bittersweet black coffee, sturdy roast, ash. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming finish, more ashy roast, rich coffee, baking cocoa. Solid.

Bottle shared at Watford tasting. Many thanks to Tipple for this one. A dark black brown coloured pour with halo tan head. Aroma is earthy coffee, alcohol. Roast raspberry. Flavour is composed of medium sweet, earthy roast, raspberry, coffee, bitter coffee. Palate is medium sweet, tangy rounded, good.

330ml bottle. Pitch black appearance, deep brown head. Aroma chucks out thick malt, coffee, dark chocolate, roast, wood. Taste builds on this, although the coffee could be more prominent. Proper meaty beer, good body, excellent sipper overall.
