A black IPA with a light creamy tan head. Aroma is of roasted malts with hints of gooseberry. It is hopped with Nelson Sauvin, coffee notes round out the beer to give some great flavours. More of a west of Scotland balance to the IPA than a West Coast USA balance, and we think it works really well.

Sanda gets its name from the Sanda lighthouse, located off the southern tip of the Mull of Kintyre in southwestern Scotland.

From bottle @ Borefts 2013. Almost black colored. Citrus and roast in both aroma and flavor. Low on carbon. Some tartness. Hints of caramel. Nice.

Frothy nougat coloured head stayed well on a jet black, finely effervescent body. Citrus, malt, metal toasted aroma. Medium bodied. Very sharp on the palate.Nothing on the back. The taste is coffee, mild citrus, roasted, pine & bitter under ripe stone fruit.

Appearance- pretty much black, a thick beige head which hangs around. Aroma- malt, milky coffee, milk chocolate, vanilla hints, fudge. Taste- bitter hops, roast malt, coffee, fudge cake, vanilla, caramel, dark malts, bitter dry roast. Full mouthfeel. Good, more black than IPA.

0,33l bottle at home. BB 03/2016. almost black color, small tan head. smells of roast, light licorice, parfume, berry notes, bit flowery, ligthly earthy. interesting smell, i like it. medium to full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of licorice, earthy notes, almost smoky, spices, some coffee, bit soapy, light currant notes. finishes light roasted and a bit dry with earthy notes and licorice. good one, liked the smell almost a bit better than the taste. not much hops left on the taste, but probably because it does not seem to be so fresh anymore, still very enjoyable beer.
