A black IPA with a light creamy tan head. Aroma is of roasted malts with hints of gooseberry. It is hopped with Nelson Sauvin, coffee notes round out the beer to give some great flavours. More of a west of Scotland balance to the IPA than a West Coast USA balance, and we think it works really well.

Sanda gets its name from the Sanda lighthouse, located off the southern tip of the Mull of Kintyre in southwestern Scotland.

Bottle from Wine & Cheese. Pours very dark cola with a tan head. Aroma is hints of milky chocolate, maybe a touch of vanilla, coffee?, but not particularly any burnt malt. Med body. Flavor is a touch of burnt malt, some milky chocolate (darkish, perhaps) and a fair amount of mixed resin/citrus/fruit hop. It’s not exactly dry, and it’s fairly bitter. Good black IPA.
