Reviewed from notes.
Green bottle to tall tulip.
Appearance: dark mahogany to almost brown color with a three finger eggshell white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: toasted almonds, caramel/toffee notes, apple flesh, dark bready sweetness and a subtle clean earthy sweetness
Flavor: blends the prior noted aromas to an even keeled variety of different sweet tones; finishes leaning into the dark bready to almond to caramel sweet tones
Texture: medium to full bodied; somewhat sessionable? Hmmmm...I think so; very smooth along the tongue without anything distracting; good carb level (sigh of relief cuz I'm not a fan of green bottles and I didn't see a date on this bottle which kinda made me apprehensive about trying this beer, period!)
Overall: I'd say a very nicely done Doppelbock and I would welcome this again.

Aroma of thick malt, caramel, toffee, raisin, nuts. Flavour is sweet with a moderate bitter finish. Nicely full bodied, but overall too sweet for my taste.

330ml poured from a green bottle bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. Crystal clear mahogany coloured body, slowly diminishing beige head, spotty lacing. Inviting on the nose with almond and caramel malts. Fine balanced, rounded flavour character of caramel, dark bread, herbal hops and a discreet bite of dried fruits. Drying, mid-sweet, close. Smooth on the swallow. Fine partner to our Christmas herring. Tasty. (Tromsø, 02.01.2025).
