D96 has a special place in our hearts. Sharing pilot batches long before we were Equilibrium, and they even tapped Equilibrium’s first commercial keg ever at their Burger Loft charity event. We’re grateful they have given us a home away from home. When D96 first made Sexual Frustration, John brought a keg up to our line share. As Sexual Frustration is very Galaxy forward and Equilibrium’s Fluctuation is very Citra forward, we thought why not do an 8% DIPA that would be like blending the two beers. Sexual Fluctuation was born.
Sexual Fluctuation is a Citra/Galaxy blend (incorporating the latest EQ hop technology). It pours a hazy tangerine orange and releases releasing aromas of passion fruit, peach, lime, and pineapple all integrated with a juicy twist. The taste is a bright creamy tropical sorbet flavor that is dangerously drinkable and balanced with a big EQjuice finish.

Draught at Lulu's, 5/13/18.
Heavily hazy, orange/tangerine juice-looking. White head fades steadily to cover.
Passion fruit, soft spice and light potpourri open up the nose with dank, green, deep hop notes continuing on and showing no pine or citrus. Funky mineral and light juice are backed by sparse biscuit from the malt. Excellent and clean, with a high strength of aroma and some light melon and bubble gum esters. No alcohol or resin. Very interesting and unusual nose.
In mouth it's soft, dank and juicy with great attenuation and a supple malt texture showing tight carbonation. Passion fruit, lime zest and strong mineral seem to suggest there is more Galaxy here than Citra, but maybe that's just my perception. Biscuit and cracker arrive on the end, clearing things lightly. No alcohol or resin whatsoever and just the right amount of bitterness.

1 pint can from Himmeriget, Copenhagen.
Amber, hazy, milky body, with a big, creamy, lacing, white head.
Aroma of dankness, apricot juice, lemon, vanilla, kiwi, pineapple, lychee, subtle pine.
Tastes pretty similar.
Medium, a bit creamy mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation.
Finishes smooth, moderate dry, slightly bitter, a bit sweet, fruity, moderate juicy, a bit piney, a bit warm, with tropical fruits, some citrus.
Tasty. Very smooth and balanced, with lots of bright fruit notes and a creamy character. Alcohol is almost completely hidden, drinks really fresh. Lovely, fresh stuff.

Pours a very hazy, banana-smoothie-yellow, with good-sized, pillowy head. Aroma is chock full of citrus and tropical fruit, with more than a little basement dankness and sour washcloth. Flavor is tropical fruit and citrus, with a touch of butterscotch in there. Very soft and smooth mouthfeel. Just a touch of sweetness, with a slightly bitter finish. Very nice beer.
