330 ml bottle, vintage not stated on the label, otherwise the label looks the same as the 2013 vintage. Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 10.9%. Pitch black colour, large tan head. Strong and pleasant roasty and somewhat sweetish aroma, notes of dark malts, chocolate and vanilla, also coffee. Fairly sweet flavour, with the same elements as in the aroma. Warming mouthfeel.

From bottle at DSJT at Cardinal 09.11.14. Very dark brown. Beige head. Aroma of star anise, cough syrup and roasted nutd. Similar taste. Round mouthfeel. Chocolate, coffee and bitterness in aftertaste.

Bottle. A more or less black one, topped by a nice-looking dark beige head. Rather neutral aroma, with a spiced hint and some roasted malts. Rather boozy. The flavor is quite boozy too, especially towards the end, with roasted malts and chocolate and a spiced touch. Full body and a pleasant carbonation, some warmth. Lasting roasted finish with booze, chocolate and some coffee. Not much interesting this one, too boozy and lacking the complexity I’d expect. 141108

From tap. Pours pitch black with a small tan head. Aroma is toasted malty and caramelish. Slight spiced. Smooth roasted and wineous, toasted malty and caramelish. Bitter and dry roasted into the finish. Wooden and dry herbal.

Bottle. Clear deep ruby liquid with small to medium light tan head. Aroma of pumpernickel, licorice, raw sugar, spices, toffee and dark chocolate. Taste is light to medium sweet and light to medium bitter with notes of chocolate, Christmas spices and raw sugar. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Pretty nice, not as spicy as earlier years.
