KOMES PORTER reflects the history of brewing, referring to the 18th century tradition of brewing porters in the Baltic states. At their prime, Baltic porters represented one third of the market, which is the best evidence of their popularity. We offer you a well-balanced, dark, strong beer with a distinct flavour. Slow fermentation at low temperatures in open vats, coupled with long (at least 3 months) maturation have resulted in the beer’s character and complete, complex nature. The Porter’s bouquet matures further in the bottle. Time is on its side.

50cl bottle. Very dark ruby pour with a tall tan head that gives way to a nice lacing. Smells like roasted malts, cherries, rye bread crust, brewed coffee. The taste follows the same notes, with a nice caramel and milk coffee sweetness on top of a mild roasty bitterness. Medium bodied, low carbonation with a roasty bitter-sweet aftertaste.

Barwa niemal czarna, lekko przebłyskuje, piana beżowa, umiarkowanie obfita, pozostaje cienka warstewka. W aromacie kawowo, paloność, nieco czekolady. W smaku półsłodkie w kierunku półwytrawnego, gorzka czekolada z ciemnymi owocami, kawa, paloność, lekkie melanoidyny. Goryczka średnia, minimalnie w kierunku wysokiej, wysycenie w normie, mogłoby być nieco niższe, dobra treść, długi posmak, alkohol prawie nie wyczuwalny, świetnie ułożony i bogaty w smaku. Jeden z najlepszych porterów bałtyckich, o czym świadczą zdobyte w pełni zasłużenie medale. Warto brać regularnie na chłodniejsze wieczory.

At Omerta Pub, Krakow, two years ago. Black, no head was poured. Very nice coffee aroma, very aromatic. Sweet, some sugars, maybe even to sweet, like a Nescafe! Quite drinkable, soft carbonation. Coffee dominates, but sugar also. Tasty, maybe not balanced enough.

50cl bottle @ home. From random grocery store in Kraków. Poured black in color with a thick espresso head. Aroma has coffee, roastedness, licorice, smooth palate. Flavor has caramel sweetness, roastedness, licorice and mild coffee notes. Good drinkability, is this really 9%? Long finish, smooth. Good one.

0,5l bottle at home. BB 14.06.2017. black color, small tan head. smells raisins, dried fruits, spices. not overly special smell. full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of spices, dried fruits, raisins, licorice, light chocolate. finsihes light dry with notes of raisins and spices. decent enough, but was expecting quite a bit more, not overly special but could be just my bottle.

500 ml (v2013) bottle thanks to Grzegorz! Black color with beige brown head. Malty aroma, roasted, chocolate, caramel, light coffee and licorice, dark dried fruits. Sweet and bitter taste like aroma but even better. Medium to full oily body with soft carbonation.
