Cask at the old bridge inn Aviemore. Pours a nice black with a small white head. Aroma is dark malts, restrained cocoa, milk chocolate. Medium body, smooth and velvety mouthfeel. Flavour is rich and malty, nice dark malt profile with milk chocolate, cacao, light coffee, light bitterness, very smooth. Very nice stout, loads of flavour for the abv.

500ml bottle from Tesco - Dark black, tan head. Roasted malty nose, some hints of dark chocolate in the taste. Easy enough beer to enjoy.

Black beer, decent head. Malty aroma with a little chocolate. Flavour has toasty malt, chocolate, some vanilla. Simple flavours but a decent heft to it for the strength and a nice body. Very decent indeed.

Very dark brown with lasting head. Aroma and flavour are packed with bitter, heavily roasted malts. Quite smoky. Long lasting bitter finish.

Black with a foamy to frothy beige head. Very mild aroma of ashes, amaretto, and stale chocolate does little to invite sniffing. Taste is pleasantly bitter up front, sweetening at the end with milk chocolate notes over a mild tartness. Medium-bodied, mild carbonation, oily. Okay but forgettable.
