Adam is a recreation of a historic beerstyle. Originally made in Dortmunder, Germany, it was the first beer I produced when I opened Hair of the Dog. Rich in flavor, Adam is best served as a dessert beer. It is great with chocolate or cigars, or just a warm fire and good company.

Batch #67, just got a case through a private order.
HUGE tan head, jet black color.
Outstanding! aroma is loaded with dried fruit, and mollasses, and a tad of hops. mouthfeel is thick, just what i expected.
Flavour is thick, with loads of dried fruit, and hints of chocolate, and smoke.
finish is bitter, but very satisfying. For 10% the alcohol is nowhere to be found.
simply outstanding!

Уникальное пиво. Запах торф, сухость, дымка. Вкус уникальный, есть дымка и кожа, прям много. Шоколад черный, ирис, торф. Схоже на парфюм. Уникально. История.

12 oz bottle. Batch 102. Bottle is a minor gusher. Pours an opaque dark brown color with a big sudsy beige head that slowly recedes to a fine surface scum. The aroma is strong with dark fruits, cola, and anise. The taste, like the aroma, features dark fruits up front. cola in the middle and anise on the back end. There is a bitter walnut type of bitterness throughout. The palate is full and oily with soft carbonation. Finishes long and semi-sweet with lingering anise and walnuts. Overall: Decent--Top shelf. Paired well with some Snowdonia English cheddar.

(Draught at Billie's Bier Kafétaria, Antwerpen, 17 Oct 2024, 2017 vintage) Black colour with creamy beige head. Malty, vinous nose with notes of caramel, port wine, dried fruit and treacle. Malty, vinous taste with caramel, treacle, tar, asphalt, dried fruit, raisins, burnt sugar, port wine and a balanced herbal bitterness in the finish. Full body, quite sweet. Powerful, mellow and really tasty. A beer style of its own. Great beer!

Tap at Borefts 2015: Hazy brown colored brew with an mildly dry bitter taste, hints of caramel, coffee, some smokiness, some leather and wood. And so i have rated finally this Oregon classic legend at last.

Nitro tap at Apex. Pours opaque dark brown with beige nitro head. Aroma has gentle smoky tobacco and leather. Flavour has tobacco, leather, some roasted malt. Very smooth mouthfeel. Complex and unique flavour profile, all well-integrated, fantastic.

In a world of hazies, sours and pastries, anyone that is old money cannot love this . Raisins, plum, smoke leather, unbelievably smooth malty, alcohol non-existent. Out of this world good old world beer. Unreal

X September 2023. Bottle from Deconinck (presumably). Batch 100 = Bottled: 9/7/2020. Hazy dark brown, stable, foamy, tan head. Aroma of walnut, tawny port, pear, tobacco, date, wet wood, brown sugar, red apple, brandy, vague cinnamon, liquorice. Taste has sweet date, pear & apple wrapped in a brown-sugary, walnutty and brown-bready malt body, balanced by softly phenolic spices and a sourish berry undercurrent. Herbal hoppy finish with lingering dried fruits, wood and warming port-like alcohol. Full body, oily texture, average carbonation. Elegantly sweet with delicate accents; gorgeous!
