Rich Amber bock beer brewed with imported Munich and Pilsner Malts and fermented with a rare lager yeast.
This beer has a deep malt character and body with a hint of toffee in the aroma. The noble hops balance the richness of the malts and provide a complex profile that hides the 7% abv.

Draft at Waterfront Brooklyn. Sweet and caramely. Pretty good though I’ve had better maibocks.

From Jun 2008

I got this bottle, filled by New Beer Distributors, from nutbrown. Thanks Alan!

This was filled in a Grand Teton 1 liter swingtop bottle....

A nice pop when I opened the bottle, it pours a clear golden colour with a 1 finger head of foam. Lots of nice lacing. Head retention was about average.

The smell is very light but there's definitely some biscuit and toasted malt.

The taste is what I expected, judging from the nose. Big biscuit malt flavour, big toasted malt that has a bit of earthiness to it, and a slight citrus hop twang about mid palate. Nice, and man, this is so damn easy to drink. 7.5%?? You gotta be kidding me! lol. The body is medium light and the carbonation is very much on the light side. It finishes like it started; nice malty goodness permeating my tastebuds but oh, there's also a slight bitterness there as well. Cool.

This, I think, would be a *great* beer to drink when is in the midst of hop overload. ;^)

Sampled on draft at Zeno’s in State College PA this beer poured a dark caramel-amber color with a medium sized foamy orange-white head that faded quickly and left no lacing. The aroma was sweet and tangy golden fruits and table sugar. The flavor was tart and tangy table sugar with notes of candied pears and apricots and undertones of bread, pepper and nut. The finish was long and sweet with lingering candied golden fruits. Thick and full bodied. Well done.

Picked up a growler of this at Big Z Beverage in Huntington NY. Pours a hazy, orange amber with a spitty white head. Grainy, malty, nutty aroma that has some slight fruits and crackers. Flavor was fruitier than I imagined, very sweet, malty flavors, caramel, some biscuit. Finish was dry. Pleasant and very drinkable. Not my favorite Maibock/Heller but good none the less.

(Handbottle 65 cl) Courtesy of BrianK. Pours an almost clear, deep golden with a small, off-white head. Sweetish malty nose. Medium body with a solid and clean malt base. A little low in carbonation. Rather sweet with almost no bitterness. 190407

Bottled. An unclear light amber beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma is sweet matly with light citrusy notes of hops. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of oranges and straw. I find the body thin. Tasted blind.
