bottle at home ... Deep black ...thin tan lacing ... dark roast ... light blackcurrant nose ... little fizzy ... soft cocoa roast ... again blackcurrant ... ok but not hitting the stout spot for me

Cask@Reading Beer Festival 2012. Pitch black colour with a small brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, some liquorice, nuts and mild ashy notes. Flavour is quite similar in a nice balance. Long ripe fruity and toffeeish roasted aftertaste.

Draft at the Black Country Arms, Walsall. Pours black with a thick tan head. Light coffee and roasted aroma. Flavour is bitter with chocolate and coffee. Light to medium bodied with soft carbonation.
