The silky aroma of vanilla and roasted nuts hovers above a compact lightly browned head. Contrary to its smell it is surprisingly light bodied. A clean prominent bitterness is well paired with the malty sweetness. Finishing with a falling flavour in between dry and lightly sweet.

On June 21, 2015. At St. Augustine’s, in Vancouver, British Columbia.Murky dark brown color, tan head. Sweet, light roasted and coffee scent. Malty, light sweet, roasted taste. Dry, cocoa aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel, medium bitterness that is dry and grainy.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Dark brown color, compact head. Aroma and flavor play too much with the roastiness, hiding the caramel notes, and getting into a dusty/ashy final.
Not saying is bad. But this is not an Altbier. Not a beer I would drink again either.
