On tap at Patrick’s. A lightly hazy yellow beer with a minimal sized white head. Very fruity aroma, tropical fruit, grapefruit and some faint pine cones and bready malts. It’s semi tart and softly carbonated, with mostly fruity flavours. Grapefruit, tropical notes. Soft bitterness. Lasting finish. Nice indeed, but sort of one dimensional. 151022

Bouteille 50cl, shared with the SHAPE crew, merci Pierre T. Dorée, col fin blanc.

Keg at The Grapes, Oxford Thursday 15th October 2015 in the company of Geraint and Loz. Pours hazy mid gold with a slim white head. As the name suggests this is indeed rather tart but there is an underlying summer fruit type sweetness, not as dry as some, it’s a little like unripe soft summery fruit. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8

Bottle thnx to Martin ! Pours clear blonde, small white head fades fast. Smell is weak. very mild sourness on a grainy back. Barely there, to be honest. Taste is weak as well. Very sharp tartness, but not complex or intense at all. No brett-taste, as well as no multiple layers. Just mild tart maltyness.. Its OK, its an easy drinker, but so are other sours... and those are just way better. Not a winner for me due to the lack of complexity and intensity, but I can drink this.

500ml bottle from Mitchells Wines, Meadowhead - Clear yellow body, thin white head, loads of cidery sparkle to it. Nose has a great BITE of lemons in it, very much like the BITE of sniffing a bag of sherbet lemons. The BITE of the sherbety lemony BITE continues into the taste. Very clean, very crisp, with quite a bit of BITE. Thinking about it, an alternative name for Tart could easily be BITE.

Pours almost clear yellow golden, topped with thin and non-lasting white head. Soury nose, grapes and tropical fruits. Quite puckery soury with some noticeable leather and quite intense spices. Lasting aftertaste and very light body.

Go on then. I’ll stick my rating of yet another Thornbridge beer that needs to be aliased in... Tap. Hallamshire House, Sheffield. Gold, with a light haze. Loads of fine bubbles make for a thin, lively, white head. Aroma is sweet, cheesy, lemon funk. Taste is crisp, tart, light sour. Hint of dry. Hint of sweet. Cleansing palate. Feels under 6%. Good, refreshing, not too sour, sour.
