Avec Babylone, c’est « Back to the future » !

It is a really nice bitter not that bready than expected, for the style nice bitterness, it sounds more an IPA than a bitter, 09.12.17, at the ex pibar, Lausanne.

Bottle from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is chewy malt, bread, caramel, bit candied fruits, yeast, toffee, spicy notes. Flavour is medium sweet with a fairly bitter finish. Body is a sturdy medium. Smooth and refined bready malty fruity beer, very enjoyable.

I spotted this 33 cl bottle at a small shop near our hotel in Brussels. On a tour we stood across the street from the BBP brewery, couldn't go in because it was closed. So I came home with this beer to try. I have a tulip glass in place for the pour, reddish brown in color with a slender cover of parchment foam. The smell is malty and grainy. I lift the glass to take a drink. Scorched malt, biscuits, a piney bitterness, a touch of sweetness and perhaps a bit of citrus. Dense, a substantial feel. I have not tried many in the style but this is the best one. And I do like the stand-out label.

Bottled 330ml. -from the brewery, shared with hrabren. Darker amber coloured, medium sized off-white head, light bready caramel nose. Toasted malt, caramel, light biscuity and fruity with notes of hops and spices. Some bitter touch in the aftertaste.
