It is a real original: the Berliner Kindl Weisse. Characteristic yeast cloudy and fine tingling, wonderfully fresh and lightly hopped - that's the lively beer enjoyment from the capital. Berlin's unique specialty, also known as "Champagne of the North" since Napoleon's time, combines Berlin tradition with young flair.

Bottle at the hotel in Berlin. Pours clear, pale gold with a small white head. Tart, light bread aroma. Very light sweet flavor with pleasant tang. Light in body with fine carbonation. Tangy finish, light lemon, light bread. Short lingering sourness. An alright Berliner Weisse, and the best one from this brewery (the other, fruit versions are pretty dire).

Bottle very kindly brought along by Thomas and shared on brewing day with Fin and Ang Fri 6th Jan 2012, cheers Thomas The colour is a rather hazy light lemon with a wispy white head. Tangy and sour initially, in fact throughout, streaky citrus seeping through constantly, wheaty, its a tasty beer and great for the abv. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4

Bottle from my good friend Edo, because I was looking for my first Berliner Weisse. Needless to say I highly doubt I will be a fan of it. Pale hazy yellow with no head. Smells and tastes lactic sour, Icould hardly try some sips. I donβt think I will drink another berliner weisse again if they are all like this Edit: Tried others after this and liked them more, so this is probably crap :D

Bottle from Utobeer. It pours cloudy, very pale straw yellow, with a massive white head. The nose is boiled cabbage, carrots, wheat and herbal. The taste is initially very sharp zesty lemon, lime, white grape skin and grapefruit, which smoothes out to refreshingly dry wheaty finish. Light body, big sourness and high carbonation. Crisp and ultra refreshing stuff. Iβm loving this style.
