Bottle bought in Portland, Oregon, by the wife. Golden with a thick head. Hoppy with a healthy citrus fruitiness that’s not over stated, but has plenty of lemon meringue flavour.

Laurelwood Piston pale ale on tap at CBB. A clear golden copper pour with a dense white head of foam. The nose is fruity piney hops, west coast all the way. Medi bodied with a smooth mouthfeel. The taste is earthy fruity hoppiness well balanced by caramel malts but with an ascerbic bitter hop aftertaste. Delicious and a pleasant surprise.

Draught at Portland Craft, Vancouver
Hazy golden color with generous compact head. Could be a nice dry and smooth Pale Ale with good citrusy hops, a bit sweaty; but it also has some diacetyl, and some vegetable bitterness in the final.
Not bad, but flawed.

On tap at Portland Craft, pours a clear golden with a small white head. Nose smells infected, with notes of fart, skunk cabbage, and boiled vegetable runoff. Flavour is thankfully not quite as bad, but is definitely problematic, with some infected diacetyl notes, boiled vegetables and biscuity notes. Something quite badly wrong here. Drain pour.

Draft. A dark golden beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet malty with light notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet malty with primary notes of caramel, but also lighter notes of citrus, leading to a dry and slightly bitter finish. Too light for a Pale Ale.

Draft at the brewpub. Nice hoppy aroma. Golden amber color with a lightly lacing white head. Medium in body and carbonation. Starts with lightly roasted malt and something of citrus hop. The finish is nicely bitter - fairly balanced. Quite refreshing.
