Bottle from Lekker Bier, batch 003 dated 11/5/14, large sample, served in a trappist glass. Slight hazy ruby color, medium frothy light brown head. Aroma is spicy and fruity, licorice, raisin, red fruit, caramel, hint of roast. Medium sweet in taste, slight malty bitterness, bit dry. Medium carbonation, medium body. Decent in its style.

Flaske (batch 003) delt på på RBDH-samlingen hos Asle Bjørn: klar mørk mahognyfarge. Kort storboblet skum. Lett karbonert. Lukter sukkertøy og møbelpolitur. Søtladen smak. Uten tvil den dårligste dubbel jeg noen gang har smakt! Nok en øl i vasken. Humlene var Magnum og Tettnanger, uten at det hjalp.

Shared 330 ml bottle at local tasting. ABV is 7%, 22 EBU. Batch #3. Dark brown colour, moderate off-white head. Aroma of pear drops / artificial candy, furniture polish, brown sugar, caramel and alcohol. Sweet and sugary flavour, "chemical" notes makes this the poorest "Abbey dubbel" I’ve had.

Dark brown. Beige head. Pear, alomonds, alcohol and furniture polish in aroma. Artificial sweetness in taste. Aftertaste is unfresh and chemical. Well under par for a dubbel.

Bottle @ weekly tasting shared with Dutchdrebus. Opaque brownish color with some yeast residu in it, small to average sized beige head that leaves good lacing. Aroma is malts, sweetness, brown sugar and a hint of liquorice. Taste malts, sweetness, brown sugar and some caramel. Decent body and carbonation. Not bad.

Bottle @benzai. Opaque brown with a small, slightly creamy beige head. Smells liquorice, liquorice wood, sweet. Tastes liquorice, liquorice wood, sweet, wiebertjes. Not a fan. Medium body, soft carbo.

Batch #3, culinaire huiskamer te Lemmer. Bruin ondoorzichtig met fijne snel slinkende kraag. Aroma van rozijn caramel mouten en wat zoet. Smaken zijn redelijk suiker zoet, zwak bitter, beleving van donkere fruiten zoals rozijn en pruim. Redelijk moutig aards en caramouten. Medium body, dun en glad van textuur, afdrink zoetig. Maar ook dit biertje komt wat koolzuur te kort.
