Bottle from Healthy Spirits, San Francisco. Aroma is dark malt, lots of Bourbon, oak, vanilla, fudge, caramel, dark fruits, brandy, wine, chocolate, dried fruits, raisins. Flavour is smooth sweetness with a mild boozy touch. Body is full and rich. Oh yes... Complex and amazingly balanced, this is how you do proper barrel aging.

2014 vintage bottle poured. Thanks T! Just knocking off top 10 Strong Ales off the site today I guess. Cheers! Dark near black pour. Aroma is toasty malts, peaty barrels, some toffee. Back to back vintage Lost Abbey brews that have exceeded expectations for standing the test of time. Some slight nutty grain behind big bourbon barrels and dark chocolate stout. Smooth and flavorful blend. Age isn't for every beer, but this was incredible.

2017 vintage. A deep dark brown ale with a thin lacing mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with dark fruits, light vinous character, alcohol warmth, very nice and rich. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity chocolate malt with dark fruits, tobacco, light bourbon barrel notes, woody notes, alcohol warmth, very nice and rich.

Thanks JC. Aroma is very nice, loads of fruit, ovaltine, coconut, booze, bourbon. Taste is very good. Rich, smooth, slick, booze is hidden but comes. Beautiful sweetness. Great stuff.
