Full bodied, black, roasted, and exceptionally smooth. This was our first anniversary beer and our first limited can release. Finishes neither sweet nor dry, it is a wonderfully balanced stout perfect for stout lovers and stout newbies.

Can thanks to Tim. Pours a very dark brown with small beige head. The aroma is raisin malt and chocolate. Thin mouthfeel with a sweet roasted malt and caramel and a bit watery in the finish. A decent foreign stout from Upslope.

Can @ home. Dark brown appearance with a dark brown head. Roasty, nutty malty, rich chocolate, somewhat fruity aroma. A touch burnt, rich dark chocolate malty flavor with a lot of fruity notes (plum, prune) going on, as well as a strong anise note. Actually, I kind of like this Foreign Stout.

Nearly black pour - nose of milk chocolate, roasted malt, light mineral, some flaws hiding underneath in the form of light DMS/vegetable notes - flavor is of bittersweet chocolate, roast, boiled vegetable notes - very similar to the aroma - a light chalkiness - messy - I give upslope another chance and this is what I get - dang.

Tap @ Vine Street Pub, Denver. Pours transparent black with a tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, toast, coffee, huge chocolate, dark fruits. Taste is maty, roasted toast, caramel, chocolate, light fruit. Medium body, soft carbonation. 240212
