This unique beer is the result of the exceptional traditional technique of dry hopping as genuine Kent hops are added after the brewing process, at low temperature, so that only the finest of the hops’ aromas and flavours are transmitted to the beer. The amber sensuality of Martin's Pale Ale, its creamy foam and its hoppy flavour make it a favourite with discerning drinkers in search of a beer of character.

Bottle. Clear Amber with off white head. Lots of caramel, grapes, peach, skunky, vegetal bitterness. Tate is medium sweet with a bit unpleasant bitter finish. Some lingering rye bread. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Not very good.

(Bottle, Poechenellekelder, Brussels, 25 Oct 2014) Pale amber colour with dense, off-white head. Malty, slightly fruity nose with apricots, toast and citrus peel. Slightly metallic. Malty, fruity taste with notes of toast, apricots, dried fruit, crystal malt and a gentle spicy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Well balanced and tasty. Quite nice.

Old school "Belgian pale ale", a remnant of the time when Belgian breweries were heavily inspired by the then-prevalent English beer styles. This is in that sense a classic, which many aged beer drinkers in Belgium are familiar with. I will re-taste it soon (I see the ABV has been increased a little bit since the last time I had this) but for now, this rating is based on old notes; a deep golden blonde beer with calm sparkling and creamy, off-white, medium head. Sweet main character: malt sweetness, caramelly, even sugary, a bit honeyish, somewhat metallic with rather thin body, fruity accents, light floral and herbal bitterish finish but the sweetness continues - in other words, this could have been a lot hoppier and would benefit from it. I did not like this too much, or any beer from this company, for that matter.

Pours clear golden/amber with a lasting, foamy, white head. The aroma contains grass, citrus, bread, caramel and dough. It tastes medium malty sweet and light grassy bitter; sweetish finish, bit herbal and dry. Medium body, thin texture, fizzy carbonation. MIddle-of-the-road. (Edited 20/5/18)

Tap at the Duke of Antwerp. Poured a crystal clear medium amber with frothy white head. The aroma is fruity citrus malt. The flavour is medium to light bitter with a floral hop citrus bitter palate and a lingering bitter sweet finish. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. Medium bodied with average carbonation.
