Dit is een krachtige Black India Pale Ale. Een bier met een veel hop aroma, ondersteund door donkere mout, en een lichte hint van gebrande mout.
Zeker fruitig, met een mooie toets van hop en koffie. Geen bier om snel te drinken, maar om van te genieten. Proost !!!

Bottle @home. Dark brown to black colour with a large beige head. Smells roasty, coffee, some tar.. Not a lot of IPA scent. Tastes hops, roasty, some chocolate, some iron/rust. It?s nice but not balanced enough to be a great black ipa. Medium body, soft to medium carbo.

Tap @ Burg Bierfestival 2014, small sample. Dark brown color, medium head. Aroma of hops, grapefruit, citrus, bit pine, but also quite some coffee, mocha and slight roast. Medium bitter in taste, caramelly sweet. Very easy to drink. Quite sweeter than usual black IPAs.

Bottle @ Tulip Inn, Bodegraven. Pours dark brown, almost balck with a fading tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, light coffee, licorice, grassy hops. Flavor is roast malt, coffee, licorice, dark chocolate, light grassy hops, light citrus. Medium body, lively carbonation. 260714

Bottle from ABC Beers, Den Haag. Poured a clear dark brown with a frothy light tan head. The aroma is rich nettle grass hop. The flavour is strong bitter with a super hoppy bitter liqourice palate. Medium boded with lively carbonation. A little bit rough around the edges for me. I’ve nothing against hops but I think the hop bucket fell into this brew. Lots of grassy bitterness but no spicy pepper that makes a good Black IPA.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought online @ het.biermoment.nl. Black with a beige head. Hoppy aroma with roasted malts. Some smoke is almost present. Nice bitterness in the taste with a long dry aftertaste. More roasted and smoked than hopped, but satisfying nontheless.

batch #41008, schenkt als donkerbruin maar oogt zwart met een beige kraag. aroma is enorm zwak, wellicht iets op laten warmen ?, anyway... het beperkte vleugje wat opgesnoven kon worden bestond voornamelijk uit geroosterde mouten, chocolade en zoetigheid. smaken zijn matig zoet, redelijk bitter, geroosterde mouten, koffie, stevig kruidig en ietwat pittig, as en kalk komen ook terug. medium body, glad van textuur, afdronk lang bitter en iets droog. ik ben er niet helemaal weg van !

Bottle from ABC Beers opened on the spot. Dark brown to black color, full sized dense long lasting beige head. Smell malts, lightly roasty, lightly hops, lightly leaves. Taste malts, dark malts, roastyness, iron, bitter. The flavor has too much roastyness instead of hops to be a real good Black IPA imo, it’s unbalanced. Medium body and carbonation.
