1900 is a nod to the very things that got us where we are today- crisp, clean microbrews all from the belly of a little brewery tucked away in the outskirts of Old Town. The result is a superbly refreshing, bright and delicately balanced amber lager.

Premium lager my white ass. This is an amber. Mild, medium bodied. 1900 is a pretty good description...tastes antiquated. Murky unfiltered body. Lacy soapy off-white head. Borderline infected. Pretty shabby.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 1/20/13
Aroma: The nose is sweet malts, must, grains, lemon zest, and some bready notes
Appearance: Pours a hazed orange color with an inch of off-white head and some drippy lace
Flavor: The flavor is sweet and malty, there's a little citrus too, with minimal bitterness
Palate: The body is light, it has a decent feel, a average-plus carbonation, and a tingly finish
Overall Impression: This one wasn't a favorite for me. It's a little musty, doesn't have a great feel, and that tingly, lemony finish just didn't work all that well either. Not bad, but not a winner either.

Bottle. Pours a clear orangish amber with a near white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of grain and musty bread with not much else. Flavor has earthy musty grains with a bit of backing sweetness.

Bottle. Syrupy barley malt and grass aroma. Golden yellow color with moderate head. Sweet corn syrup and barley malt flavor with a light weedy hops finish. Unmistakably a lager.
