1900 is a nod to the very things that got us where we are today- crisp, clean microbrews all from the belly of a little brewery tucked away in the outskirts of Old Town. The result is a superbly refreshing, bright and delicately balanced amber lager.

This Lager poured a medium orange/amber colour with a quickly dissipating, soapy head. No lacing. To the nose there are scents of dough, light orange citrus, toasty malt and a light floral aroma. First sip was nice. Slightly sharp carbonation with flavours of toasted malt and citrus hopp flavour. Finish is medium bitter with a light spruce flavour lingering.

12oz bottle from ABC poured into a shaker. Pours a light amber with a half finger of white head. Slight citrus hop aroma with some caramel malt. Taste is lightly bitter. Good hop taste with a little malt. Medium bodied with a thin texture. Lively carbonation and a long bitter finish. Overall, not bad. I’ll drink this one but probably wouldn’t buy it again.

Slight horse or saddle aroma. Pale lager appearance. Stronger alky candy w/o sugar impressions on the buds. Yes, quite a strong personality. Cannot detect much hops here. Seems alky strong with out the soapy stuff. Perhaps smooth at times but not satisfying. Very little CO2. This comes across difficult at times. Seems to be old in taste but can’t find a date code on the bottle. I’m a lager lover but this stuff does nothing for me, comes across more like a rude ale.
