Draft at Rootz, Den Haag. Pours a black colour with a tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate, coffee, mocha, hops. Flavour is roasty, more coffee, with a good bitterness in the aftertaste. Great Black IPA with Stout-ish tendencies...

Tap at Arendsnest, Amsterdam: Very black "client collaboration brew" with an dry bitter taste and hints of citrus fruits. Quite nice one.

Clear dark brown to black beer, big creamy beige head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: very malty smell, lots of cow fodder, grains, barn yard, gentle roast, some coffee notes, overall a very rural character. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: very bitter start, hoppy, bit resinous, slightly fruity, good harsh roast, bit matly. Aftertaste: very bitter, some sweet malts, bit sugary, dark roast, some dark chocolate and cocoa powder in the finish.

Bottle. Almost black. Roast, coffee, licorice and citric hops in the aroma. Roasty yet hopbitter flavor with coffee and licorice. Citrus and pineapple. A mess of aromas and flavors, yet quite drinkable.
